Katrin Eismann, Photoshop Diva (The Photoshop Diva) Visit This Photographer's Web Site: http://www.photoshopdiva.com Katrin Eismann is an internationally recognized artist, author, and educator who has been working with digital imaging tools since 1989. Katrin's extensive teaching and speaking engagements address the latest tools and techniques of digital imaging and the impact they are having upon professional photographers, artists, and educators. She speaks German and English and has taught and presented in Europe, Asia, South America, and throughout North America.
Katrin studied photography and electronic still imaging at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Upon graduating at the top of her class in 1991, she had the good fortune to become the first intern at the Kodak Center of Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine. Three years later she was the Director of Education and had implemented a rigorous curriculum that focused on imaging, design, and multimedia. In 2002 she received her MFA degree in Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
In 1998: Katrin co-authored; Web Design Studio Secrets and Adobe Photoshop Studio Secrets, 2nd edition for IDG Books; chaired two Thunder Lizard Productions Focus on Photoshop conferences; completed a four country tour of Scandinavia for the Eastman Kodak Company, and was a guest artist at the La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls.
In 1999: Silicon Graphics Computer Corporation selected Katrin to participate in the Vanguards of Visual Computing Program. She completed Real World Digital Photography for Peachpit Press and prepared a photographic installation to accompany her being the 1999 Guerin Visiting Scholar at the Marlborough School in Los Angeles.
In 2000: Found Katrin with a busy speaking schedule in which she participated at the HOW Conference and two PhotoExpo and Thunder Lizard Photoshop conferences. In addition, she taught at numerous workshops and at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
In 2001: Katrin completed Photoshop Restoration & Retouching for New Riders and completed her first year as a graduate student in the MFA Design Program at the School of Visual Arts.
In 2002: Katrin received her MFA degree in Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, taught throughout the US and held workshops and lectures in Peru, Finland, and Portugal. Additionally she had a successful exhibit Silent Beauty at Keene State College.
In 2003: Katrin updated Photoshop Restoration & Retouching for Photoshop 7 and began teaching Imaging Foundations and Advanced Photoshop classes in the undergraduate Computer Art Program at the School of Visual Arts. She presented in Mexico and Portugal and led numerous digital imaging and digital photography workshops.
In 2004: Katrin released Photoshop Masking & Compositing and and updated Real World Digital Photography with Sean Duggan and Tim Grey. She presented at the PMA, PPA, and ASMP conferences and for the first time at Photoshop World where she was warmly received.
In 2005: Katrin updated Photoshop Restoration & Retouching for Photoshop CS, presented in Moscow, Russia; released two DVDs with Software-Cinema; and was inducted into the Photoshop Hall of Fame.
In 2006: Katrin released a new DVD on Image Restoration with Software-Cinema. Developed and taught three classes at the School of Visual Arts in the graduate Photography and Video and undergraduate Computer Art departments.
Presently, Katrin lives in Weehawken, NJ with her husband John McIntosh who is the Chair of the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Computer Arts Program at the School of VISUAL ARTS in New York City.
